We have been busy recently preparing a new world themed routine in support of Leeds bid for cultural capital of Europe in 2023!

On Sunday we performed with over 65 WI women from Baildon Belles, Bingley WI and Saltaire WI in Robert’s Park in Saltaire.

Thanks to funding from Bramley Community First ,we have partnered with Bramley Baths and have held the first class of our Mermaid Exercise course. This happens durin Ladies only swim on a Monday night at Bramley Baths.

After an intensive week of rehearsals working on new materials and tweaking bit of the routine with help from our lovely guest mentor Sally Marie.

Leeds College of Art one of our partners on the Mermaids Tale project are running a fantastic free workshop for kids

We have just made a new cabaret show with peerformers Helen McCarron Rachel Fullegar Lucy Meredith and Zoe Parker, and with excellent direction from Jason Hird of the Institute for Crazy dancing.

The Mermaids are now members of East Street Arts!

It’s only January but it has already been a busy new year for YLA, We have been in rehearsals developing a piece which is part performance, part participatory for older people.

We would just like to wish you all an absolutely fabulous New Year! It’s been a great year for Yorkshire Life Aquatic.

Today we have have launched a campaign to raise money for our community projects by selling limited edition T-shirts & Hoodies with a special edition design.

Bramley Mermaids Club made a fabulous ‘splash’ at Bramley Baths’ Summer Open Day. Ten women braved the pool in their polka dot swimsuits and performed a glitzy aqua routine.
